National Provisions for Distance Education
Loyola Marymount University is located in Los Angeles, California. As an institution in the state of California, the only state not part of the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA), state authorization is what allows LMU to enroll students outside of California into its online programs.
LMU adheres to the state regulations for each state and has received authorization, exemption, or does not fall within the jurisdiction for authorization to offer online educational offerings that are not credit-bearing in states outside of California, which the exception of:
- Alabama
- Arkansas
- Connecticut
- Delaware
- District of Columbia
- Georgia
- Minnesota
- Wisconsin
International Provisions for Distance Education
At this time, there are no restrictions on international enrollment in online programs at the Center.
Accreditor Provisions for Online Learning
For those accredited yoga studies programs that are traditionally held in-person, including teacher trainings and courses in yoga therapy, faculty have reimagined and redesigned them for an online delivery without compromising the learning experience and sense of community. Special permission has been granted by accreditors to deliver these programs online due to the pandemic:
Yoga Alliance. Both our 200-hour teaching training (Yoga and the Healing Sciences) and 300-hour teacher training (Yoga Therapy Rx) are registered with Yoga Alliance. Due to pandemic restrictions, Yoga Alliance has permitted online delivery of these programs through December 31, 2021.
International Association of Yoga Therapists. Our Yoga Therapy Program is accredited by the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT). IAYT has permitted online delivery of courses through September 2022. Pending further pandemic restrictions, courses will resume on campus in October 2022. Please note, new and current students pursing C-IAYT will not be able to continue online past this date and will be required to attend classes at the campus in Los Angeles.
