Frequently Asked Questions

It's great that LMU is offering a Degree Completion Program in San Bernardino, but I'm not sure if I'm ready right now. Can I take this program the next time it's offered?

  • At this time, LMU Extension is only planning to offer the program that will begin in January 2018 (applications due October 9). LMU is trying to understand if there is demand in San Bernardino for this program, and so the response to this first time it is offered will help the University to determine whether or not it should be offered again.

Q: What should I do if I know I can’t send my unopened official transcripts or my letter of recommendation to LMU before Oct. 9?

A: Please use your response to the following question on the application to tell us that you are procuring the needed unopened official copies of your transcripts and will send them to LMU as soon as possible.

Q: To what address do I send my unopened official transcripts and letter of recommendation?

A:

Degree Completion Program
1 LMU Drive, Suite 1863
Los Angeles, CA   90045

Q: Does LMU require transcript submissions?
A: Yes. LMU requires that transcripts of all previous academic work completed at other colleges or universities be submitted for evaluation. It is your obligation to request official transcripts from the institutions you have attended when applying for admission. At the present time, we don’t require a minimum grade point average (GPA) or SAT/ACT scores for admission.

Q: Can I transfer previously earned college credits to LMU?
A: Yes—in fact it is required that you have completed the AA degree or equivalent (see below) and transfer those college credits to LMU.

Q: I have lots of credit hours but don’t have a bachelor’s or associate’s degree? What will transfer?
A: You can transfer the equivalent of an AA degree, which is 60 semester credits.  As long as you have earned 60 semester credits from an accredited college or colleges, you have enough college credits to qualify for the Degree Completion Program offered by LMU Extension.  You must submit unopened official transcripts for all college credit earned.
